Piero Fornasetti at Deconet

Piero Fornasetti Milan based Piero Fornasetti was a painter, a sculptor, an interior decorator, an engraver of books, an exhibitions organizer - a creator of more that 11,000 items, and a deviser of sceneries and customs. Fornasetti is celebrated as being among the most original creative talents of the 20th century. During his career he created a visual vocabulary that is instantly recognisable and unceasingly engaging. Fornasetti designed a magical world, saturated in image and colour and filled with whimsy and wit. Many objects features the face of a woman, opera soprano Lina Cavalieri, Fornasetti made over 500 different versions of her. Other characteristica in his work include heavy use of black and white, the sun and time. His style is reminiscent of ancient Greek and Roman architecture of which he was strongly influenced. Fornasettis production of objects and furniture is one of the largest of the 20th century. The lesson deriving from his oeuvre is the rigour with a strong imagination and an elegant and mystical sense of humour.
