Yesterday, I stumbled upon a pretty great resource called Decopedia, the modern design encyclopedia. An offshoot of Deconet, a newish contender in the online furnishings space, Decopedia is a wiki for modern design enthusiasts that benefits from Deconet's photographic database. For instance, if you search Hans Wegner under the "designers" category, you'll get a brief career overview and 200 images of Wegner furniture designs, including pieces currently available on Deconet.
Deconet's mandate is to be "a revolutionary marketplace for Modern Design... and provide buyers and sellers with more information than has ever been available before." Decopedia needs to be a lot more comprehensive before it lives up to that ambition but it?s well on its way. This is a web resource worth bookmarking.
